In their words
“The difference with the sessions I had with the team at Quantum was that they looked at my application as a whole. They considered every step, every piece of the puzzle, and how I was progressing throughout the entire journey.”
“The team taught me, it's not about rehearsed answers but rather applying what I had learned from school to new contexts, and trying to answer even when I wasn't sure and not fearing to make a mistake.”
“Working with Quantum really pushed me to stay on top of my academics while going beyond the syllabus. They connected me with inspiring tutors, sharpened my interview style, and showed me how to think like an Oxford student.”
“Quantum was the one who convinced me to apply to Cambridge because I thought I wasn't going to make it... And I had to apply for internships using the skills that team helped instil in me.”
“Quantum and the team's extensive experience, along with personalised feedback and support at each stage, was invaluable, and has helped me to grow as a person while also developing new skills and insights.”
“The team at Quantum guided me through the process with clarity and patience, ensuring I understood each step and could make well informed decisions.”
“Quantum's tailored approach helped our child bridge the gaps and grow with confidence, step by step.”

Melanie: from unsure to Oxford Biology
Two and a half years, from Year 11 to an offer. Melanie was strong across the sciences but had no settled subject when she started with us.
- 1
September 2023, Year 11: PathBuilder and Wider Reading
PathBuilder tested Medicine, Biochemistry and Biology, while Wider Reading gave her reading beyond the syllabus in each, so she could judge what she actually enjoyed reading and discussing.
- 2
March 2024: a subject, chosen on evidence
Her progress reports showed where she read hardest, wrote best and asked the most questions. Biology, not Medicine, and she could say why.
- 3
April to September 2024: the second half, all in Biology
Reading far past the syllabus, weekly reflections, seminars and monthly one-to-one sessions with a Cambridge-trained biologist. A summer school with lab shadowing, and a Pathway Plan written by her senior consultant.
- 4
Autumn 2024, Year 12: a research project
One-to-one sessions with an Oxford biologist mentor produced an essay on pollinator behaviour: the backbone of her EPQ and her interview subject.
- 5
September to October 2025: personal statement and UCAS
Two years of documented reading meant the statement was edited down, not invented. Submitted by the October deadline.
- 6
November 2025 to January 2026: interviews, then an offer
Preparation with current Oxbridge researchers, then mock interviews. Offer: Biological Sciences, University of Oxford, alongside offers from Durham, Bristol and Edinburgh.
